Release Date: May 26, 2021

## Announcements

This release includes the following announcements:

* New StoreFront API Gateway - Step Towards Self-Service Subscription and Payment Method Management
* New Settings to Limit Number of Email/Mobile Per User Profile.
* New Setting and Validation to Limit Number of Users in a Group.
* Starting June 2021, product name on public documentation will be officially updated from 'MarketONE User' to 'MarketONE Connect'.

## Connect Features

This section describes the key updates in this release.

### StoreFront API Gateway

Currently, billings (account) and subscriptions with Communication Service Provider (CSP) and Over The Top (OTT) Providers are handled inside MarketONE User's "Platform" microservice. This service handles, among other things, the orchestration and integration with partnering systems to fulfill these operations specifically in the MarketONE. With increasing customer organizational needs/requirements, we have moved payment and subscription related operations into a new dedicated "StoreFront Gateway" microservice. The StoreFront Gateway API will handle:

* Account and Payment method management (for example, add, deactivate, update, set primary)
* Subscription management (for example, purchase, cancel, reactivate, pause, resume, update payment method, update billing plan, view billing details such as next billing transaction & amount)
* Billing authorization management (for example, partner subscriptions of type "BILLING": view, revoke, update payment method)
* OTT entitlement provisioning (for example, view, reprovision)

This Gateway is a foundational step towards broader initiatives to introduce self-service subscription and payment method management. These features are expected to be released Q2 2021. Stay tuned.

### Limit Number of Email/Mobile Per User Profile

MarketONE enables end users to register multiple email addresses and mobile numbers to their User ID. Emails and mobiles are added as authentication Identifiers (or authN IDs), and are used for a variety of basic user management functions like authentication, password recovery, and notifications.

Prior to this release, the [Add/Update Email and Mobile Process](https://docs.vindicia.com/bundle/b_processGuide/page/connectProcessAPIGuide/processes/identityManagementProcesses/c_addUpdateAuthnID.html) allowed end users to add as many verifiable authN IDs as they wanted. Clients could control a limit on the front end with appropriate amount of logic (that is, checking the current number of registered authN IDs, and then omitting options for the end user to add more), but this placed the onus on the front end. As of this release, MarketONE has added two new configurable settings that limit authN ID registration on the back end:

* **Max Email** – defines the maximum number of email addresses that can be registered to a User ID. The default setting is 3.
* **Max Mobile** – defines the maximum number of mobile numbers that can be registered to a User ID. The default setting is 3.

If an end user attempts to add more emails or mobile greater than the corresponding setting's value, then MarketONE returns an appropriate error message to the client application.

### Limit Number of Users in a Group

MarketONE's data model includes Groups. The Group is a connective entity that enables, among other things, the ability for end users to share their account or service entitlements with other end users. An end user can add a variety of services and other end users to a single Group that they "own" as the Group Primary, and then manage the individual relationships (that is, permissions) between each additional end user and service on a granular level.

Prior to this release, although MarketONE has limits on how many User entities can be associated to an individual service, there was no hard limit on the amount of User entities that could be added to a Group. For consistency and redundancy, MarketONE has added a new configurable setting to control a hard Group limit:

* **User Group Size Limit** – defines the maximum number of User entities that can be added (that is, associated) to a Group entity. The default setting is unlimited, but this can be modified for your organization upon request.

If a Group Primary (or a Group Admin who was appointed by the Primary) attempts to add more Users than this setting's value, then MarketONE returns an appropriate error message to the client application. This limit applies to both regular Users and Soft Profile Users.

Currently, MarketONE includes two methods for adding end users to a Group:

* The [Share Access to an Account, Subscription, or Feature](https://docs.vindicia.com/bundle/b_processGuide/page/connectProcessAPIGuide/processes/accountManagementProcesses/c_shareAccessASF.html) Process
* The `POST /group/{groupID}/addUser` API commonly used to provision Soft Profiles

This setting's validation has been applied to both of these methods.

## Bug Fixes

The following bugs have been fixed in this release:

| Summary | Description |
| - | - |
| Cancelled OTT subscriptions do not remain active for duration of the final subscription cycle. | Once an end user cancels the account, the related OTT subscriptions do not remain active for the duration of the last subscription cycle. |
| OTT subscriptions not being charged to updated accounts. | Once an end user updates some detail to their account in MarketONE, existing OTT subscriptions are not able to charge to the updated account. |
| UXDR's **ulm-data** folder uploading incomplete snapshots. | Daily UXDR snapshot of **ulm-data** are not uploading the database snapshot in full (for example, some folders missing in the snapshot). |
