# MarketONE Connect 2022.04 - Release Note

## Announcements
The following are MarketONE Connect Announcements:
* We are migrating documentation from MarketONE Developer site at [https://developer.m1amdocs.com/documentation/](https://developer.m1amdocs.com/documentation/) to our Knowledge Center at [https://docs.vindicia.com/](https://docs.vindicia.com/). New documentation updates will only be available in the [Knowledge Center](https://docs.vindicia.com/).
* Available OIDC client scopes have changed. Merchants that have already adopted "com.uxpsystems.ulm" client scope will not be impacted. See **[Granular Scopes](#id_1)** section in this release note for further details.
## Connect Features
This section describes the key enhancements in this release:
### Granular Scopes Update
Scopes are assigned when creating or editing the OIDC Client from the Connect Admin App. The scope defines the access level and identifying parameters to the Connect API for the OIDC client.
From this release, we have made the following changes to OIDC scopes:

| Removed "com.uxpsystems.ulm" | This scope used to provide full access to all Connect user management APIs that require an authenticated user context. This scope was removed because it provided too much access under a single scope. Scopes "profile", "email", "phone", "storefront", and "customdata" protect Connect APIs with granularity. |
| Removed "com.uxpsystems.ulm.partner" | This scope used to provide access to APIs that do not require a user content, typically used for [machine-to-machine](https://docs.vindicia.com/bundle/b_restApiGuide/page/apiAuthN/c_m2mAuthN.html) access. |
| Removed "offline\_access" | This scope used to request that Connect issues a refresh token along with the access/ID token. This scope was removed because it is better controlled from the "Token" section when creating and modifying OIDC Clients. |
| Added "storefront" | This scope provides access to [Storefront Gateway APIs](https://docs.vindicia.com/category/developerhub) that facilitates identity-driven purchase and subscription flows. |
| Added "customdata" | This scope provides access to [Custom Data APIs](https://docs.vindicia.com/category/developerhub) that facilitates storage and retrieval of additional user data/metadata. |

### Localization, Terms of Service and Privacy Policy URLs Enhancements
Connect's IdP UI is a configurable user interface for user onboarding, sign-in and profile management. Prior to this release, updating the IdP UI localization was only possible via administrative APIs.
The new interface are available In the Connect Admin App from **BRANDING** > **IdP Portal UI**.
In this release, Connect Admin App provides theming customization options for the Idp Portal UI. The following interfaces are supplied:
* Localization support interface - currently available for English language.
**Note:** Support for additional languages is coming soon.
* Terms of service and privacy policy URL support.

### Email Notification Service Management Enhancement
Connect supports email notifications to end users that are delivered by your configured email provider. Email providers can be tested to verify that the delivery/dispatch systems are working correctly in all environments. When you integrate your own external SMTP email provider, the SMTP server must support **login** authentication. Connect's email provider is a limited, free email service that's available in non-production environments.
From this release, Connect Admin App supplies a new interface to update and test email notification services. The new interface is available from **BRANDING** > **Email Provider**.
### Email Notification Template Management Enhancement
Connect supplies template files that support branding and customization. Merchants are responsible for their template design and a configured delivery service. Connect stores the templates, and triggers notification events that are processed by the specified delivery service.
From this release, Connect Admin App provides a new interface to download, upload and test email notification templates. The new interface is available from **BRANDING** > **Email Templates**.

**Note:** Connect also supports SMS notifications to end users. The SMS notification service interface within the Connect Admin App is planned for an upcoming release. In the interim, SMS notification services and template management are accessible via Connect Administrative APIs.
## Bug Fixes
The following bug is resolved in this release:

| On mobile devices, the email field capitalizes the first letter. | When a user enters their email address from a mobile device, the entry was treated as regular text and the first letter was capitalized. This has been resolved. |
