Release Date: February 21, 2024

## Announcements

The following are Digital Identity Management Announcements:

* We are in the process of updating the documentation and UIs to reflect current product names for the following:
  * **IdP UI** renamed to **Identity app**
  * **Admin app** renamed to **Admin console**
  * **Care app** renamed to **Care console**

## Digital Identity Management Features and Enhancements

This section describes the key updates in this release:

### Access Token Enhancement Identifies External IDP Federation

Digital Identity Management now supports a new claim, **ext\_iss**. When an external IDP federates with Digital Identity Management, the access token is enhanced with this new claim. This claim is based on the **iss** of the external IDP's initial access token. This enhancement allows the UI applications to identify if a user is using an external IDP to authenticate.

### Default Roles Feature

From this release, you can create users with default roles. This can be useful in Admin use case scenarios when users need to be set up with default roles. For example, the default role could be assigned to a basic permissions role so that when new users are created, they have the basic abilities in an application.

Default roles can be configured within a tenant via application settings.

### Identity Router Enhancements

**Support for Multiple Relying Party (RP) URLs Per OIDC Client**

From this release, the Digital Identity Management Identity Router supports multiple Relying Party (RP) URLs per OIDC client. This enhancement allows users starting their authentication journey from different URLs to be redirected to the same OIDC client.

**Search Organizations By Name**

From this release, the Digital Identity Management Identity Router allows users to search for their organization by the organization's display name. Using the organization's ID is no longer the only way to identify the organization in the Identity Router UI. This enhancement makes the login experience easier and more efficient.
