# Remove ULM 9

Remove a microservice or component by uninstalling the Helm chart. The release name is required to perform this operation and can be listed and viewed. If more than one microservice is no longer required, repeat the following steps to remove the next chart from the cluster by Helm.

1. [Find the Helm](ulm9FindHelmChart) chart name using `helm list`.

2. Review your results for the **Release Name** of the microservice to remove.

3. To uninstall the selected microservice, enter `$ helm -n <namespace> uninstall <release name>`

The selected Helm chart is removed and the microservice is no longer available.

## ULM 9 Remove Variable Details

| Variable Name | Description |
| - | - |
| `<release name>` | The release name associated with the current installation. Helm stores install details and metadata in the release name object within the cluster. The release name is used when working with the installed chart in the future such as in upgrade or uninstall operations. |
| `<namespace>` | Define the namespace to install the chart into. If you're using the default namespace, this parameter can be omitted. |
