ULM 9 Install Process
Amdocs stores Helm charts and Docker images in protected repositories that require authorized access with secure credentials. Contact the ULM 9 Support Team for your credentials to access these repositories and artifacts. Docker registry These artifacts are the built images of microservices that can be installed into a private cloud environment and namespace. Organizations need to provide Amdocs with an AWS ECR in which we can upload images for deployment into an EKS cluster. Review the Software Versions matrix to determine what images each microservice requires. See how to configure Kubernetes and install images for more details. Locate the docker images here with your assigned credentials. Helm repository Helm charts. Helm charts are used to install microservices onto your existing Kubernetes cluster(s). The repository contains all the helm charts available for install or upgrades. Each microservice uses a Helmvalues.yaml file that needs to be pre-configured with your organization’s settings to ensure connectivity to all AWS-managed services such as Kafka. Each helm chart comes with a relevant readme file containing the following information:
- Chart’s purpose, features, and associated services
- Example configurations of different implementations
- Templates that can be modified
- Table describing each property and values in the yaml file
ULM 9 Upgrade Process
Review the latest Release Notes before proceeding with a ULM 9 upgrade because there may be additional steps required with the new upgrade process. Failure to follow the instructions may cause a failed upgrade and/or non-functioning application components. Review the Software Versions matrix to determine what upgrades each microservice requires. See how to upgrade a Helm chart for more details.ULM 9 Remove Process
If a microservice (helm chart) is no longer required, the component can be uninstalled from the cluster by the Helm Service (helm listcommand). Retrieve the release name to uninstall the selected microservices/components.
Review the Release Notes Software Versions matrix to determine what microservices you no longer require. See how to remove a component (Helm chart) for more details.
