Connect Features and Enhancements

This section describes the key updates in this release:

One-Time Password (OTP) Rotation And Invalidation

From this release, when a One-Time Password (OTP) is reissued to an end user, the OTP value is rotated and the previous OTP is no longer valid. For example, an end user initially receives an OTP with the value 4452, and then requests another OTP by SMS. The end user receives another OTP with an updated value of 5793, and the previous OTP with the value 4452 is invalidated. Prior to this release when an OTP was reissued, we did not rotate the OTP value or invalidate the old OTP.

Storefront Gateway Pause or Resume Subscription APIs

From this release, the MarketONE Storefront Gateway supports the pause and resume subscription APIs. The Storefront Gateway API POST/subscription/(autobillId}/pause pauses an active/good standing subscription immediately. Entitlements granted from the subscription’s product(s) or billing plan are stopped on the date of the pause request. The Storefront Gateway API POST /subscription/{autobillId}/resume resumes a paused subscription immediately. Entitlements granted from the subscription’s product(s) or billing plan are reinstated on the date of the resume request. Optionally, the billing cycle can be reset to start on the date of the resume request.

Admin User Management

From this release, the Admin Console has updated page/options to manage admin users that include:
  • View and modify admin user details
  • Add a new admin user to a team
  • Suspend or remove suspension of admin user

Support For Additional Special Characters In Passwords

As of this release, Connect supports an expanded set of special characters for use in passwords. In previous releases, only the following special characters were allowed in passwords: ! @ # $ % & *. The following additional special characters are supported:

Authenticate With One-Time Password (OTP) When User Has Password

From this release, Connect supports authentication/sign in with a One-Time Password (OTP) even if the end user has a password. Prior to this release, the end user had to enter their current password to authenticate/sign in. OTP is useful for an end user who forgets their password and doesn’t want to reset it or an end user doesn’t want to enter a full password. The OTP is an efficient method for end users to sign in and access resources.

Configure Allowed Origins To Prevent Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS) Issues

From this release, the Admin Console supports self-configuration of allowed origins/URLs to prevent any CORS-related issues. Prior to this release, admin users had to contact Connect to request a manual configuration of their allowed origins/URLs. CORS allows end users to access resources and services outside of their local domain by using browser security protocols and processes. Organizations use CORS to prevent end users from encountering limited access or restrictions when accessing resources from different domains/servers/ports.
