When a user onboards into Digital Identity Management with their email address or mobile number, Digital Identity Management provisions the User ID and the email address or mobile number with Activating status. The system then sends a verification message to that email address or mobile number, and the user must click a verification link. Once this is done, Digital Identity Management changes the status of email address or mobile number to Activated. This also applies to any additional email addresses and mobile numbers that the end user adds to their profile at a later date. In the event that a user loses their verification message, or the verification link expires, the user can then request another verification message. There are multiple ways to trigger a verification resend, including:
  • The user attempts to sign in with their unverified email address or mobile number and their password. The system informs the client application and the application then informs the end user that they need to verify the email address or mobile number. A new verification message is automatically sent to that email address or mobile number.
  • The user already has at least one verified email address or mobile number, and then adds another from within their profile. The end user then navigates to the appropriate email or mobile management section, and then selects Resend. Note: This method requires your organization to build these options into an application UI using Digital Identity Management’s user management Process APIs.
  • A Care agent looks up the user in the console and then triggers re-sending a verification message on behalf of the user.
This topic covers the Care console method. Parent topic:Authentication Identifiers

Resend a Verification Message

As a Care agent, you can trigger re-sending the verification message on behalf of a user.
  1. Sign in to the Care console. By default, the Find a User screen appears.
  2. Find and select a desired user. The selected user’s Identity page (profile) opens.
  3. On the relevant user’s Identity page, locate the email address or mobile number that is pending verification, and click Resend Verification.
The system sends a verification message to the target email address or mobile number with a verification link in the email or SMS respectively. The user needs to open that message, and click the link to activate the email address or mobile number. Parent topic:Verification Message
